Some background…

Sales promotions are a great way of increasing showroom foot-fall for car dealerships. However there is an expectation that any competition will offer a car to win. Using a Fixed Fee solution means the car dealership can offer the car, but only needs to pay out a fraction of the cost.

This campaign was run in Spain and covered by our Madrid office.

The mechanics…

Prospects were contacted by post or by email and targeted with a promotion for either a Compact Car or Grand Vitara.

The DM included 2 competitions, both aiming to drive prospects in to dealerships. The first offered free MP3 players to the first 100 people to set foot in their local dealership.

The second part was also designed to get them really thinking about the features of the cars by including a factorial element to win either 12,000€ or 18.000€ (which could be redeemed against a Suzuki Compact or Grand Vitara). This asked prospects to rank 10 statements about the cars features in order of importance. Statements such as ‘because of their 3 year warranty’ or ‘for their security elements’. Once completed, the prospect needed to hand the entry form in to their local dealership to qualify.

After the close date, a panel then decided on the winning order. Any entrants who had filled-in a matching order were winners of 12,000€  or 18,000€.
